Poetry. Sheer Poetry.

My favorite Christmas movie of all time is A Christmas Story. We’ve all seen it, and we’ve all loved it. When I lived at home, it would play for 24 hours on Thanksgiving day. It is quite possibly the greatest film ever made.

What are your favorite Christmas movies?

  1. I swear, we grew up in the same life. 24 hours of "A Christmas Story" = The best 24 hours of my life.

It is based on this movie that I suggested one Christmas Eve that we go out to Chinese food for dinner. (We were driving to AZ the next day, so mom didn't want to make a large meal). Mom and Dad LOVED the idea, and our one family tradition was born.

Yes, you read that correctly. My family has ONE tradition on Christmas, and it originated with Ralphie.

But to answer your question, Elf is another great holiday movie. And Love Actually. LOVE that one.

    "Like a STATUE!!"

  2. I actually HATE and can't stand that movie. Dustin doesn't like it either. I don't know why, but if I never saw that movie again it would be too soon. I just love Christmas, but as of right now my favorite Christmas movie is "Christmas Vacation" or "The Family Stone". We grew up watching the california raisins, alvin and the chipmunk, chip and dale, all of the old cartoon christmas shows. Anyway, you won't catch A Christmas Story in our house. Sorry to say! Please don't kick me out of the family. Nate and Haley have already said that we weren't allowed in their house because of it!

  7. Jess and Dustin know my thoughts on their little "rebellion" against A Christmas Story. I can't even speak of this anymore.

  8. It plays for 24 hours starting Christmas eve and going through Christmas day. Kacey made dad watch it twice the other day. I hate Sarah Jessica Parker's character in the Family Stone, but I love Luke Wilson (in everything).
