"I've Made a Huge Mistake."

I’ve made a huge mistake. Today, Darby was asking me if she could throw something up into the ceiling fan. I repeatedly told her no, then grew tired of saying the same thing over and over. The next time she asked, I made a huge, landmark mistake. “I can’t stop you from making a bad choice…” Yeah, I know. Her eyes immediately lit up and as a Grinch-like smile stretched from ear to ear, she said, “You can’t stop me?” Oh man. What was I thinking? I was hoping to keep that information from her at least until she becomes a teenager. What have I done?

What is the dumbest thing you’ve ever said?

  1. I do believe you were present for my dumbest comment ever. It had something to do with reba~nos. Yeah, I think you remember it now.

I love you for being present for all my most embarrassing moments.

  2. I can't think of anything right now, not that I've never said something dumb. You better watch out though, that Darby is a smart cookie!

  3. 1st of all, I think that probably was the worst comment you could make to your daughter. Good luck with that. And it's hilarious.
2nd, I say so many stupid things that you would think I would be smart enough to just stop talking all together. Guess I'm not that smart.

  6. I know I've said plenty of stupid things lacking in motherly wisdom but I can't remember the worst of them. Perhaps you could refresh my memory? I'm sure you were there for most of them.
