"I've Made a Huge Mistake."

I’ve made a huge mistake. Today, Darby was asking me if she could throw something up into the ceiling fan. I repeatedly told her no, then grew tired of saying the same thing over and over. The next time she asked, I made a huge, landmark mistake. “I can’t stop you from making a bad choice…” Yeah, I know. Her eyes immediately lit up and as a Grinch-like smile stretched from ear to ear, she said, “You can’t stop me?” Oh man. What was I thinking? I was hoping to keep that information from her at least until she becomes a teenager. What have I done?

What is the dumbest thing you’ve ever said?

  1. I do believe you were present for my dumbest comment ever. It had something to do with reba~nos. Yeah, I think you remember it now.

I love you for being present for all my most embarrassing moments.

  2. I can't think of anything right now, not that I've never said something dumb. You better watch out though, that Darby is a smart cookie!

  3. 1st of all, I think that probably was the worst comment you could make to your daughter. Good luck with that. And it's hilarious.
2nd, I say so many stupid things that you would think I would be smart enough to just stop talking all together. Guess I'm not that smart.

  4. I've made too many dumb comments to count. You could ask my children or my daughter-in-laws for a list...I usually talk long before I think!
Add to your next " I can't stop you"
but I can ..... if you do! Gran

  5. oh yes, I'm the dumb comment queen considering my mouth works faster than my brain...way faster. check out my blog and type in titanic and you will read a sad story and bad mistake I made as a mom

  6. I know I've said plenty of stupid things lacking in motherly wisdom but I can't remember the worst of them. Perhaps you could refresh my memory? I'm sure you were there for most of them.

  7. This post made me laugh out loud. Ooooh Darby, you are deliciously mischevious!!!

tell me what you're screaming
