Toddler Blasphemy

We have said prayers with Darby every night since she was an infant. Recently, we've been encouraging her to say her own prayers with us whispering certain things for her to add. So, the other night, she was doing a pretty good job all on her own. Until she prayed in the name of Jesus Christ and Emily Elizabeth, Amen. Emily Elizabeth is a character on Clifford the Big Red Dog. It seems that we went wrong somewhere along the way.

  1. I love the Darbs. You need to teach her how to pray in Spanish and tell her "mommy made mistakes while praying in Spanish for the first 6 months of her mission! No thanks to the 4 or 5 companions she had that never corrected her. So a little Emily Elizabeth here and there isn't a big deal!

I love you. And the Darbs, of course

  5. That is hilarious. I guess she's just covering all her bases.
The other night we watched American Idol (which we don't usually do)which is a waste of time. That night during evening prayers Nate asked that we be forgiven for our "idolness." I about busted up laughing in the middle of the prayer. He hadn't meant to say it that way to be funny, it just was.

  7. According to the gospel of Darby, Emily Elizabeth is a big deal. The age of 3 was my favorite age- they say the most hilarious things!
