To Do Lists
you know, as i near the exit of my 20's, i was reflecting on what i have accomplished in the last decade. i served a mission, married in the temple, had a baby, went back to school, and bought a house. that is nothing to sneeze at (nothing at which to sneeze? too pretentious), right? RIGHT?!. so, what goals should i set for the next decade? really, isn't it all downhill from 30 on? just kidding! but, i need some ideas. so, what are your goals for the next decade of your life?

I want to do an ironman triathalon. That's my biggest ambition right now... That and prepare a talk for church tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteBeyond that, mainly just enjoying my kids and shmoopie as much as every day life will allow (post pregnancy of course).
Hmmmm....I did all of that, except I didn't buy a house. My goals for my 30s are as follows: Finish my degree, finish grad school, be self-supporting, get fit and stay fit, keep my daughter from doing drugs, smoking, drinking or getting pregnant while she is a teenager, and if I have time, finding a new husband and maybe having one more baby. In a nut shell: just be happy and make them better than my 20s!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday this week Hil! No those accomplishments are nothing to sneeze about. As far as I can see, you are right on track, and you did'nt even mention some of the goals you've accomplished that are not so visible. When I set goals I try to begin with the end in mind. Look very long term ( as in eternal ) and work backward to daily. By the way. I like the new look of your blog.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, goals. Babies, degree, white picket fence. One that we actually get to stay in this time. Frequent trips to Ecuador and Arizona.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you are reaching 30 this year.
Wait, so am I.
Oh, and happy anniversary. I know I'm a little late. Sorry. But I hope you had a great one.
Bing, were you high at Hill's wedding? Her anniversary isn't until the 31st, you ding dong =)
ReplyDeleteYes I was there. I could've SWORN it was like the 4th. Early January. Before her birthday. I would've put money on it.
ReplyDeleteGood thing, because I would've lost that money. To you. And then you would've laughed in my face while waving the money around under my nose. I can see it now. . .
